Following tradition, the King’s Court Singers learn and present various genres of music each year, including Madrigal, concert choir and show choir/vocal jazz music. In the fall, the King’s Court Singers travel to the Fisher’s Renaissance Faire, where they perform madrigal compositions in an outdoor venue while wearing period dress. Traditional Madrigal Dinners also hark back to an earlier time, circa 1500, as the choir performs music and skits written during or in the style of the Renaissance. These dinners occur in December at the nearby Knights of Columbus, where the choir sings and acts for sold-out audiences every year. In the spring Side-by-Side concert, middle school and elementary school students perform alongside the King’s Court Singers. In addition, the choir presents itself at the MIC Choral Festival, university choral festivals, the North Central Holiday Show, Pacers games and other athletic events. King’s Court competes in ISSMA Solo and Ensemble, ISSMA Organizational State Qualification and Music in the Parks. They were named a State ISSMA Concert Choir Finalist in 2014 and 2015 (sixth place).
