The Indianapolis Women’s Chorus (IWC) embodies excellence in music and the power of women and song to transform communities. Founded in 1994 with roots in the gay choral movement, IWC performs regular season concerts and various community engagements throughout the year. Its repertoire is diverse, including music from various faith and cultural traditions, pop, jazz, folk, and gospel, social justice songs, and music written by women and about women’s lives. IWC sponsors the annual Emerging Voices Choral Composition Contest for young female composers.
