Hart Bakery has been an east side institution since Joe Hart opened it after World War II. Sandy Taylor, who worked as a cake decorator for Joe for many years, bought the business in 1992 and continued to build on his success. Artist Ans Taylor, the daughter-in-law of owner Sandy Taylor, painted two murals illustrating the history of the bakery. The first panel depicts founder Joe removing loaves of bread from the oven. The second panel shows Sandy decorating a cake.

Ans Taylor is a figurative oil painter from Germany living in Arizona. Her whimsical contemporary portraits combine colorful characters with the critters and cacti of the Southwest.
