This mural shows positive messages of hope, strength, and unity. The oversized flowers, plants and wording, “Beautiful Things Grow Here”, make this mural a literal symbol of growth for the Haughville community.

The mural is located at Haughville Park on West Michigan Street. This project was made possible by Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Lilly Company, and Indy Parks. It was completed with the assistance of 70 Lilly volunteers through their Global Day of Service in 2023.

Kierra Ready is an Indianapolis-based painter and muralist. She is a self-taught artist with a background in health science, and frequently uses images derived from nature in her work. In so doing, she hopes to create a serene and harmonious atmosphere that encourages mindfulness, reflection, and ultimately empowerment.
