Mosaic/Wall Relief - Outdoor Sculpture

 423 E. Michigan St, Indianapolis, IN, 46204

In a nod to the nearby Athenaeum, which originally was the home to German culture in Indianapolis, techneForm was inspired not only by the aesthetics of the Bauhaus movement in Germany but also by the theoretical underpinnings of the movement. The goal of Bauhaus was to create “good design for everybody.” They embraced industrial manufacturing materials and methods in new ways, making the constraints of manufacturing
into opportunities for new aesthetic discovery. The design of techneForm follows grid logic and only uses a few simple design elements, industrial meshes, steel sheetstock, and powdercoating to celebrate the structural and material properties of these components rather than fighting them. The resulting project is one that is efficient in its use of materials, colors, and structure. The project becomes a bright beacon in the landscape, becoming more interesting and varied as one approaches it.  Learn more at https://p1-studio.com/project/techneform/
