As part of the Buckingham Companies’ CityWay II project, internationally-known street artist Nick Walker was asked to return to Indianapolis create a series of images inside the CityWay North Garage.  The artist was given a lot of freedom to create a collection of images unique to its location, with a style that is familiar from his earlier “Vandals” work in the South Garage, but with a different theme.  Some of the murals are stand-alone, and can be missed when vehicles occupy the garage.  Others are part of large triptychs on the end walls as vehicles navigate from floor to floor.  Some are large words, while others are tiny characters.

Walker is originally from Bristol, England and has been working in public since the early 1980s. As a forerunner of the 1990s British graffiti phenomenon exemplified by the artist known as Banksy, Walker’s work has become a blueprint for hundreds of emerging artists worldwide.
