In late 2018, artist Austin Falls (aka IndyDroids) painted this pizza-loving robot on a concrete divider on the east side of Greek’s Pizzeria restaurant on 16th Street and Columbia Avenue. The mural is one of several public artworks Greek’s has installed on their premises.

Glacier depicts a large block of glacial ice melting at sea, and is intended to serve as a reminder of the impact our human activities have had on the environment globally. The mural was created in 2008 as part of the Arts Council of Indianapolis’ Picture Windows program, on the exterior wall of the Stone and Rhodes trucking company garage facing the Monon Trail. The artist, Brian Myers, received his B.F.A. in Painting from the Herron School of Art & Design, IUPUI, in 2002. He served as a faculty member at Herron, winning the Harry A. Davis Faculty Award in 2009, and was named an Efroymson Contemporary Arts Fellow in 2005.  A still life painter by preference, Myers is attracted to imagery that explores the tendency of mankind to commit indiscretions in its search for redemption.

The park is named after James Thomas Vastine Hill, who was one of Indianapolis’ first African-American attorneys when he was admitted to the Indiana bar in 1886. He rose to the level of deputy prosecutor before retirement. A large portrait mural of JTV Hill along with an abstracted rendering of the “scales of Justice” honors his achievements. The artist, Barb Stahl, is an active mural painter in Indianapolis.

In 2004, as part of the cemetery’s 140th anniversary, a group of ten sculptures were temporarily displayed in the “Gallery” section of Crown Hill as part of the Hoosier Artists Contemporary Walk.  This piece was purchased for permanent placement just south of the 38th street underpass. According to the artist, his intention in creating Social Attachments was to illustrate different relationships. Some are solid; some are passive; others are tenuous at best. The non-objective nature of the artwork leaves the specific interpretation up to the viewer.

Painting villains as public art instead of heroes might seem an odd choice, but EziKiosk (Ezi Underwood) finds them more complex and interesting than superheroes.  When commissioned by Greek’s Pizza, Underwood chose to paint Marvel’s Carnage and Venom on these concrete dividers, in keeping with the overall street art aesthetic of the rest of Greeks’ murals. Artist/DJ EziKiosk (Ezi Underwood) lives in Indianapolis, and takes his artistic inspiration from popular culture and the people around him.

FAB Crew, also known as the Fantastic Aerosol Brothers, designed and created this mural for Uber’s new Indianapolis Greenlight Hub. Spanning the entire rear facade of the building, this creative depiction of Indianapolis brings bold design and bright colors to the structure. This Uber mural is representative of the many unique designs 6Cents and Sacred317 have created over their 17 years together as Fab Crew. Though both are trained in fine art and commercial design, graffiti art remains the driving force behind their creativity. FAB Crew has been commissioned to create murals for Klipsch, the NFLPA, Hot Box Pizza, IndyGo (for whom they painted two buses), Red Bull, Pabst Blue Ribbon, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, as well as many others.
