Chosen to harmonize with the changing seasons, the bright red sculpture color resonates with the colors of fall, contrasts well against the complimentary greens of foliage in spring and summer, and pops out against the snowy background in winter.
The Center for Inquiry – IPS School No.2 Â in downtown Indianapolis dedicated this public work of art by Michigan-based artist Brian Ferriby. “Leaves of Grass II”, a 13′ tall, metal sculpture was commissioned by the CFI – Parent Teacher Student Association to be located on the southside of the school building at New Jersey and Walnut Streets, adjacent to the Cultural Trail. This effort was made possible with the generous support of a GINI-IMAGINE grant and numerous school volunteers. A special thanks to Shiel Sexton Construction for assistance with the artwork installation. Ferriby was selected from a public competition, following a national search of artists.
