This mural, of an African American boy wearing glasses and blowing a gum bubble, was inspired by a similar image originally painted by the artist Alexander Grahovsky. Its appeal is in the universality of youth, and its location in a neighborhood extensively settled by recent immigrants to the U.S. signals that everyone is welcome here. The mural was executed in a combination of brushed and aerosol paint.
