The themes of ANTIGONE continue to pulse through our time. Jean Anouilh’s adaptation of Sophocles’ play was first performed in Paris, 1942, part of Hitler’s Europe. Lewis Galantiere’s English translation is familiar, amusing, modern, and haunting.
