Marketplace artist reception

Friday, October 7, the Harrison Center is pleased to present Marketplace, new work by Kristin Divers and Autumn Ghubril with an artist reception from 6 to 9pm. The mother/daughter pair have created a body of work inspired by marketplaces around the world where people gather to exchange goods, services, and ideas. 

As part of our ongoing celebration of the Indiana Bicentennial, the City Gallery presents Soldiers & Sailors, a group show of work inspired by the Soldiers & Sailors Monument. 

The Speck Gallery features Floating and Flying, work by Bloomington-based painter John Klinkose.  

Friday evening is the dedication of the Speck Gallery, formerly Gallery No. 2, made possible through a generous donation from the Speck Fund. The gallery is named in honor of Stephen Peck (nicknamed Speck), an Indianapolis graphic designer and gifted fine artist who passed away in 2014 at the age of 28. Peck was well known as an encourager of emerging artists and musicians. Dedication remarks will take place in the gallery at 7:00 p.m.

A Connection to Place, work by Indianapolis artist Julia Wickes will hang in the Gallery Annex. 

In Hank & Dolly’s Gallery is Harrison Center studio artist Quincy Owens’ show of 2D work, Sundry. 

In the Gym, Hands on Indiana is reaching out to people interested in the environment, sustainability and art with an interactive community-based activity.  

The work hangs through October 28.
