Auditions are one week away for Westfield Playhouse’s summer youth production, The Adventure of The Speckled Band, a Sherlock Holmes mystery adapted by Tim Kelly from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic story.
Auditions will be held from 6 to 8pm on Sunday, June 2nd, at the current theater, 1836 SR 32 West, Westfield, and Monday, June 3rd, at the Lions Club, 120 Jersey Street, Westfield.
Youth ages 10 to 19 (through graduating seniors) are welcome to audition.
There are 14 speaking roles to be cast, 8 females and 6 males, including Sherlock Homes and Dr. Watson, the two sisters of the household, their father, a sinister housekeeper and whole gallery of intriguing characters, as well as one non-speaking creature.
No monologue necessary; director Veronique Duprey will have you read from the script.
Shows will run July 26-28 and August 2-4.
Rehearsals will start on June 9th and will be held Sunday-Wednesday evenings for the first few weeks and Monday-Thursday evenings afterwards; not all roles will be called every rehearsal.
