Insights Music Therapy Philosophy:
A music therapist’s role can include presence in an individual’s personal journey of growth and self-actualization. At Insights, their music therapy department desires to walk with the individual and their self-determined goals rather than pushing an agenda. They choose a person-centered approach that drives the therapeutic process. Their music therapists collaborate with individuals to develop goals that they want to pursue in music therapy and offer tools that they can then use to expand into their unique human aesthetic. The recognition of a person’s possibilities, as well as respect for their diversities is essential to the therapeutic process which is the focus at Insights Consulting. Their department strives to practice with culturally responsive and trauma-informed methods. They adhere to a site-based delivery model to best support the schedule of those seeking support. Insights music therapists seek to work as an active part of the individual support team and seek collaboration with other team members for a cohesive process. Their music therapists represent multiple neuro-types, LGBTQIPA2+, identities and gender expressions, size diversity, and cultural backgrounds and ethnicities. In our department, everyone has a place.
