The Putnam County Mural Project announces its call for artists for its 2024 festival, taking place in September 2024. Wall locations will be in Cloverdale, Bainbridge, Greencastle (2), Reelsville, and Russellville. Selected artists will be asked to work in tandem with the Putnam County Mural Project team in order to produce work that is reflective of and responsive to the Putnam County community. Artists will be required to sign a contract that outlines the needs and responsibilities of their work leading up to and throughout the festival itself.
DEADLINE TO APPLY: April 26, 2024, 11:59 p.m.
ARTIST FEES: Vary according to location and mural size, anywhere from $2,750 to $14,000. Site prep and other direct expenses are paid by the project.
FESTIVAL DATES: September 7-21, 2024. Murals must be completed during this period!
TIMELINE:
- March 25, 2024: Applications Open
- April 26, 2024, 11:59pm EST: Artist Application Deadline
- April 26-May 3, 2024: Application Review Process
- May 9, 2024: Selected Artists Notified and Contracted
- June 15, 2024, 11:59pm EST: Draft designs due to PCMP
- June 15-20, 2024: Artists will receive feedback on draft designs from PCMP
- June 30, 2024, 11:59pm EST: Final designs due to PCMP
- July 1-5, 2024: Feedback from PCMP on final designs
- July 15, 2024: Materials listing and needs submitted to PCMP, ALL materials for completion of mural MUST be ordered by this date by artists.
- August - September 7, 2024: Wall prep completed by PCMP on all participating walls.
- September 7 - September 21, 2024: Mural Festival, all walls must be started and finished during this time.
