Brass quintet music has always been performed with the standard brass quintet instrumentation. Hot Horns is raising the bar to a superior level by performing brass quintet music ranging from “Bach to Rock” with non-traditional brass quintet instruments. Woodwinds have typically been reserved for woodwind groups. Hot Horns added these instruments to offer an orchestral sound to the “Classical” brass quintet literature and a traditional “Big Band” sound to the “Pops” brass quintet literature. Hot Horns ambition is to change “Sound” through instrumentation so the listener will have a unique and different from the normal aural experience, while preserving the quality, complexity, and excitement of all brass quintet music.

Hot Horns has performed throughout the United States and Korea. Performances of note include premier performances and clinics alongside the American Brass Quintet, New York Brass Quintet, Harvey Philips, Gunther Schuller and Eric Ewazen. In addition Hot Horns has shared the stage with members of the Annapolis, and New York Brass Quintets, Baltimore Symphony brass section, National Symphony Orchestra brass section, and Masterworks Chorale of Maryland.

In addition to performing at most of the major universities from coast to coast, Hot Horns is the premier educational ensemble of its kind. Hot Horns is a performing artist for a number of Young Audiences and State Arts Council organizations. Hot Horns has performed hundreds of educational programs, demonstration concerts, masterclasses, residencies, and individual clinics to Kindergarteners through High School seniors.

Hot Horns mission, is to preserve and perform to the highest level, all varieties of brass quintet music ranging from “Bach to Rock.” Hot Horns professionalism, musicianship, technical virtuosity, entertainment, integrity, and education are unmatched and unchallenged. Cancellation Policy

Cancellation by the Purchaser: If the Purchaser cancels this Agreement, 1 week prior to the event for whatever reason, the musicians will be paid the final payment of $550.00 for 1 performance or $1100.00 for 2 performances per contract.

Cancellation by the Musicians: If, for reasons beyond the control of the Musicians, the Musicians must cancel this Agreement, the Musicians will make every effort to locate substitute performers. If the Musicians are unable to provide substitute performers under terms acceptable to the Purchaser, the musicians will not be paid the final payment of $550.00 for 1 performance or $1100.00 for 2 performances per contract.
