First Friday Art Show: Perspectives

Three Indianapolis-area artists—Chrys Burns, Demetrius Green, and Maurice Rowe—challenge you to explore your perspective through thought-provoking images that may be uncomfortable but raise relevant and necessary questions.

Perspective is commonly defined in two ways: 1) drawing solid objects on a two-dimensional surface so as to give the right impression of height, width, and depth; 2) a particular attitude toward or way of regarding something; a point of view.

Vibrant and energetic, perspective reflects the “right” impression, and the artist’s “particular attitude” and “point of view.” But how does imagery impact a person with a different point of view? Does a different perspective diminish or heighten appreciation of the work or artist? In a time when many Americans are questioning which points of view and attitudes are “right,” this group show challenges viewers to examine their own perspectives.

InSight Art Promotion is dedicated to presenting African American Art and artists to the general public. The group promotes existing artists and locates under-served, untapped artists to give them a wider audience.
