Police brutality and systemic injustice are once again at the forefront of the nation’s mind. In response, FTC is revisiting Hooded: Or Being Black for Dummies. This timely examination of growing up black in America by rising-star African American playwright, Tearrance Arvelle Chisholm, was a stand-out in our inaugural season and is even more relevant today.

Tickets for Hooded, or Being Black for Dummies, as well as the other remaining shows in our inaugural season, are on sale now. Tickets are $25 for regular admission, $20 for 21 and under, and $15 for Near West residents. Performances are held Thursday through Saturday at 8pm and Sundays at 6pm. In order to make sure everyone stays safe and healthy; we will be following all of the new procedures outlined at fonsecatheare.org/news. Patrons will need to buy your tickets in advance, come with a mask, and keep in mind that the show has no intermission and restroom access will be limited. Please plan ahead.
For this production, we also have the added benefit of being in the fresh air. Experts have made it clear that outdoor events are safest, and we are incredibly excited at how this story will come to life as a parking lot party. We believe that all of these changes will not only keep you safe, but enhance your experience with this poignant and timely show.
