Group Vocal Coaching

The Center for the Performing Arts is partnering with Todd Neal for a vocal instruction/coaching course.  During the course, students will learn song selection and approach, vocal technique, interpretation, while building stage presence, confidence, and enjoyment of performing.  Students completing the course will have a better understanding of Broadway repertoire, cabaret performance, interpretation, projection, and stage presence.

The class is limited to 20 participants and is recommended for adults and teens. 

No previous vocal training required.  This class is for anyone who would like to improve their vocal delivery.

 About the Instructor:

Mr. Neal’s experience includes teaching, coaching, acting, directing, producing, and performing in New York City cabarets – The Duplex, Don’t Tell Mama’s, Eighty-Eights, Sam’s, and the Laurie Beecham Theatre.  He is an Equity actor and has worked at the San Diego Rep, The Gaslamp, Lamb’s Players, The Human Race Theatre Co., Players Theatre – Columbus, Contemporary American Theatre Co. among other theatres.  He has taught musical theatre, acting, audition technique, and many other theatre courses at Western Michigan University, Rutgers Univ.-Camden, Ohio State Univ.-Mansfield, Marymount Manhattan College, The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Wright State University, and the City University of NY – Kingsborough College.

Class dates and time: 

March 23, 30, and April 6 from 6:30 – 8:00 pm in the Palladium’s Shiel Sexton Songbook Lounge.

* Time may be extended depending on number of students enrolled.

*Please bring sheet music for one upbeat song and one ballad to the first night of class.

Final Performance opportunity (not required) will be celebrated at World Voice Day on April 14th. This will be your chance to sing on the Palladium stage!
