Indy 500 Porch Party Poetry Reading

Join Indiana Humanities on Friday, May 6 from 6:30 – 8 p.m. to celebrate the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing”…humanities style!

The Official Poet of the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500 and numerous poets from the Field of 33 “honorable mentions” will read their original Indy 500-themed poems at the Meredith Nicholson House.

The First Friday event is free and open to the public; it is part of the public kickoff of Porch Parties. Attendees will enjoy libations and light appetizers. Various works from the Arts Council of Indianapolis’ “Welcome Race Fans” project will be on display during the event.
