The city of lights comes to Indianapolis with music by Maurice Ravel and Claude Debussy, France’s finest composers of the early 20th century. Guest conductor Carlo Rizzi leads the ISO through the shimmering harmonic colors of these famous French impressionists in Debussy’s Nocturnes, based on a series of twilight paintings, and Ravel’s La Valse, a collage dedicated to the popular dance, the waltz.
