Music on the Monon: Echoing Air presents "Cupid's Dart"

Our second session, “Cupid’s Dart,” explores and presents timeless and universal aspects of love through poetry and song of the Renaissance and Baroque periods. The listener will experience the power of love’s mystery, pain, and fulfillment.

Founded and incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2009, Echoing Air, Inc. is a vocal ensemble with early instruments. Echoing Air’s primary mission is to facilitate the appreciation and understanding of early and contemporary music through presentation of engaging, accessible, and informative programs geared toward audiences of all ages. Programs emphasize especially the pairing of two countertenors (male altos) and two recorders. The group’s initial focus was music of late 17th Century England but now includes an expanded palate of other European chamber works of the Renaissance and Baroque periods as well as contemporary music written for countertenor and historical instruments. The ensemble is comprised of talented performers and educators who have worked with leading proponents of early music throughout Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Echoing Air’s annual concert tours have included performances throughout the Southern and Midwestern United States as well as featured concerts in Early Music festivals.
