Sutphin Lecture: Making Space for Black History – Amending the Landscape of American Art

Come and explore new narratives with visual artist and social critic Titus Kaphar, whose art reimagines historical events.

Featuring Titus Kaphar, recipient of the 2018 MacArthur Fellowship and award-winning painter & sculptor.

Visual artist and social critic Titus Kaphar visits campus to discuss how his paintings, sculptures and installations seek to dislodge history from its status as the “past” in order to unearth its contemporary relevance.
