Veterans Art Day

 On Saturday, November 8, the Indianapolis Art Center is hosting Veterans Art Day, a day of free art making for veterans and active military women and men with free workshops in glassblowing, ceramics and painting. Veterans Art Day was created to connect veterans with the fun and healing that comes with creating in a hands-on class. Veterans and members of the Armed Forces who are active or retired, from any branch, rank or age are welcome to participate in these workshops.

Study after study suggests that engaging in art and creativity can have a lasting and healing effect on veterans dealing with stress related to combat and service. Our Veterans Art Day activities are designed to offer a fun atmosphere for vets to learn and get creative in a community of their peers. It also offers Art Center staff and organizers a chance to show gratitude to our vets by connecting them to creativity and fun.
