Indiana Western Stars! Brothers Kermit Maynard (1897-1971) and Ken Maynard (1895-1973), both from Vevay, Indiana, were popular western stars in the 1920s-1940s. Ken was the more popular of the two, working at most of the major studios in Hollywood. He was also a severe alcoholic, which caused a lot of production issues and on-set squabbles. His brother, Kermit, was a more affable sort of guy but never seemed to register as well with the public, although he made hundreds of movies.

Cowhand Ken Clark is stranded in Chicago, and temporarily takes a job as a sharp-shooter entertainer in a night club, with the intention of getting enough money together to get back to his beloved Arizona. Ken helps drunken Frank Gordon (O’Brien) regain control of a ranch being slowly bankrupted by rustlers. Can Ken find the rustlers? Can Frank sober up enough to notify the police? It’s fun western fare enlivened by Maynard’s deft horse riding tricks.
