Hidetaka Niiyama is Japanese conductor and pianist. Hidetaka is Conductor and Music Director of Projekt: Opera, innovative opera company in Fishers, Indiana. He recently finished the inaugural season of Projekt: Opera with three performances of Mozart's Magic Flute. In 2016, Projekt: Opera will perform La Boheme and L'Elisir d'amore. In past few years, Hide has assisted Indianapolis Opera's production of Theree Penny Opera and Amahl and the Night Visitors in its 2014-2015 season. As an advocate of new music, he appeared as a guest conductor for two newly-composed operas, Cake by John Cittum and Charonby Scott Perkins and accompanied as a pianist A Hand of Bridge by Samuel Barber. His mentor includes violinist, Philip Palermo and conductor, James Caraher.
