Irvington Winter Luminaria

Irvington Winter Luminaria

Presented by Historic Irvington Community Council at Irvington Library

It is such a simple idea: a bakery bag, with a cup of sand in the bottom and a candle lining the sidewalk and steps.  In 1976, the Irvington Community Council sought to symbolize and celebrate communityin an old urban neighborhood.  Last year over 13,000 candles lite private homes and public areas and this year we invite you to enjoy the party. If you live in Irvington, light at least 5 bags and visit.  If you live outside the neighborhood, put the kids in the car and go for a drive..or a walk.

Our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/irvingtonwinterluminaria/ will show which streets are lighted and where there will be events.
