Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI)
Date created: September 2021
Andrea Haydon’s mural for a shipping container in Garfield Park represents all outdoor sports that are currently played in the park.
Garfield Park hosts a local RBI (Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities) league for youth in Indianapolis. Since 1996, Indy RBI has been the proud exclusive Indianapolis affiliate of Major League Baseball’s RBI initiative. The mural, a partnership between the Garfield Park Art Center and Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, holds the RBI equipment year-round. It was painted with Eli Lilly as part of their 2021 Global Day of Service along with five others in Garfield Park.
