Rick Petersen (1969, Indianapolis, IN) is a disabled US Army veteran, father and and self-taught photographer. With a background in art, Rick ‘s photography often blurs the line between painting and photograph. Nature and life in rural Indiana are his favorite subjects to capture. Rick currently resides in Greenfield, IN.
Photography is an exploration for me, a quest to capture the elements of beauty in nature and rural Indiana. Before taking a photograph, I spend extended periods of time getting to know my subject; the light, color, shape, texture and motion. It is through this process of intimate discovery that I identify the qualities I wish to emphasize in my photography.
