In a culture built on speed and information, I am drawn to reflection and stillness. The scenery of thought and memory is as interesting to me as our visible world. Evocative and moody, my work often explores human attachment and detachment through the use of fragmented figures.

In her mixed-media paintings, Land creates depth and texture by layering acrylics, colored pencil, silk paper and image transfers. Land’s work draws on her photography and a personal collection of antique photos and books.
