Michael Bartosz is a photographer currently located in a small town in Central Indiana. This Chicago native studied Photography and Printmaking at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) from 1976 to 1980.
Inspiration for Michael’s photographs comes from his urban up-bringing in Chicago. Growing up in the shadow of the industrial neighborhoods surrounding the steel mills, Michael became comfortable with the most often gritty and unkempt houses and buildings of his South Side neighborhood. Preserving these structures that feel comfortable in themselves as they stand today, Michael looks for these building in the small towns and cities of the Midwest, and keeps them preserved in his imagery. Often fitting portraits of who/what they were and have become.
Archival Prints availible. Please contact the artist for details.
