Ronen Chamber Ensemble

The Ronen Chamber Ensemble is dedicated to present music featuring winds and strings and its mission is to give music lovers the opportunity to hear both the intimate works of great masters and the new fresh contemporary works of chamber music. The setting is often informal and after concerts receptions encourage communication between audience and the performers. The Ronen Chamber Ensemble has presented concert series for the past 35 years and has been active in outreach in classrooms k-12, universities and adult living communities.
The program we offer “Naturally inspired” presents music that was inspired by nature, for example,imitation of bird calls or flowing of water. A comparison between the clarinet and cello, explains the similarities and differences in sound production,playing technique and how the instruments are made. The sound production is explained according to age and grade for higher grades we will be introducing a bit of Physics and for lower grades, a presentation of a story book about the process of creating the violin from a tree in the forest will involve fun audience participation in movement). The music selections are short and varied in mood to best display the character of each instrument. We will include a piece written for us by David Baker a Jazz composer native of Indianapolis. It would be a great program to introduce students in 5h grade who are about to choose an instrument.
