When Hate is Loud, Love Must Be Louder
Date created: 2020
Indianapolis-based Jamie Locke created this mandala* to serve as a reminder, especially in these historically unprecedented times, that love, kindness, and compassion are key to moving forward towards justice, equality, equity, and oneness … to live together as one race, the human race. The artwork was donated to the Little Flower community after appearing for a year as a temporary installation with Indy Art & Seek, a 2020 project of the Arts Council of Indianapolis and Keep Indianapolis Beautiful.
*Sanskrit for “circle,” an object of meditation intended to assist in one’s spiritual development
