Robinson focuses his studio production around the idea of furniture as a vehicle of expression. He has continually sought ways to make his studio production reflect an interest in functional forms that speak with an artist’s sensibility. The collective work shifts in series that represent different material explorations, form investigations, narrative qualities of art making against the formal vocabulary of design, and then back again to the simplicity of functional objects.
