“My work welcomes viewers into a world where whimsey and wisdom intertwine where thoughts move through the mysteries which surround us all. Using an abstract, expressionistic style, I explore themes through symbol. My artistic journey leads me to incorporate various types of media into my pieces-fabric, paint, photography, metals and wood.” Elyce Elder
Artist Style: Visual: Abstract, Expressionistic
Fabric is a component in many of my mixed media assemblages, and like a continuously woven cloth, my works flow together exploring aspects of a theme. Some pieces tend toward whimsey, while others are more serious. Major colors in my work are blues and purples, symbolic of wisdom, mystery and calm.
