My name is Frances Ruiz. I was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico and have lived in Fishers, Indiana for almost two decades. I studied for a Bachelor of Arts in Washington DC and returned to Puerto Rico to study law. I practiced as a licensed attorney in Puerto Rico for several years until I moved to Indiana in 2004. I was not entirely satisfied with practicing law, therefore, I got certified as a professional translator and interpreter. I worked in this field for many years,
Artist Style: Visual: Collage, Ethnic, Land/Cityscape, Nature/Wildlife, Representational
Artist Medium: Visual Arts: Acrylic, Collage, Mixed Media
I use all types of paper to create representational art. I also paint my own paper creating patterns and colors that I will later include in my painting. I strive to be as detailed as possible creating a real life representation of the subject. My subjects are closely related to my cultural background and life experiences. My love for culture, nature, wildlife, music and dance are depicted in all of my paintings with paper.
Self taught artist. I have taken art classes at a private art studio in Indianapolis and Fishers for 10+ years.
