“The gathering of our fellowship group provided many opportunities to actively listen to those outside my usual range of activity and personal interest, and it was in these moments of exchange and experiences that I discovered more of myself.” – Fruits
After years of being focused on his role as an arts administrator, Hadley used his Creative Renewal experience as an opportunity to examine and explore his work as an artist. His intellectual and visual challenge was to focus his energies on a more personal pursuit while studying American culture on the National Road. Hadley’s fellowship yielded an unexpected opportunity, as he joined the Indiana National Road Association in coordination with Historic Landmarks of Indiana as a member and volunteer. His personal vision about cultural identity on the National Road has led to a chance to combine his passion with the efforts of preservationists.
