Michael Vargo

I’m a father of 6, a veteran with disability.  I’ve, in the past few years, been teaching myself how to paint.  I’ve used it as a mental health tool and had no idea how much I was going to love it.

Unfortunately, I have a rare condition that limits my ability to a normal life.  With painting, I’m able to fight through the mental struggles that come with my condition, and allows me to be the best I can be for my partner and our children.

While learning, I’ve realized that I had a talent, that I wasn’t aware of and began selling a painting here and there.  The more I’ve created, the more I’ve sold.

My hopes are to make a living, without dependency on the government or anyone. Support my family, like I used to, only using my talents as an ambitious artist.  To stand on my own 2 feet, despite this condition that currently plagues me.

I can paint anything that I put my mind to, but my energy comes from landscape, especially skies.  I try to incorporate an amazing sky with an amazing landscape in every creation.

I currently only paint with acrylics, and I’m an amateur wood carver as well. I’ve created many wood works that I’m truly proud of.
